I noticed a problem where LR doesn't disply my folders properly. On my external drive the folders are set up as:
Topic 1
2022
Series 1A
2023
Topic 2
2022
Series 2A
2023
Topic 3
2022
Ecuador
Galapagos
Jan-Apr 2022
etc...
2023
So in this example 2023 will be folders when we come to next year. If you look at the screen capture look at how LR is organizing my folders. It puts the top folder as 2022 (that is wrong) and then lists other folders below that. If I point to Ecuador for instance the tool tip will display "Topic 3/2022" so it knows the organization of my folders but the display is very misleading and frankly wrong as you can see. 2022 should not be the top folder since each Topic has a subfolder as 2022. Why can't Adobe get this folder organization to reflect what is on the disk? In LR when I try to make a new folder in Topic 3/2022 it cannot do it. It only knows Topic 1/2022. So in Windows Explorer I make my folders the way I want, make sure I have at least one picture in each folder (or LR won't import it), and after importing a folder then I can move things around in LR as I desire. Has anyone else seen a similar problem?
Please post a screen shot of your external disk from the windows explorer view (fully expanded). Can you verify that you have 'Show Parent Folder' on?

Thank you for pointing out the "Show Parent Folder" feature. I never that existed as LR always showed the correct organization without having to do that. Disk E was just installed at the begining of the year and what I showed you before was what LR did to that disk. Now I have LR show the parent folder for each grouping on E: and it finally reflects the organization I have on that disk. It basically mimics the screen shot I give from Windows Explorer.
