LR is taking too long to make Smart Previews

hey there

when i make Smart Previews to all the raw files in the catalog ( to taranfer them to outside editor )

LR just slow .
its takes me alot of time to finish the process

LR - only using 30 % CPU

and 0 % GPU

my Pc is very very strong .
using the AND 5900X

and RTX 3080

and all the raw files are on internal SSD (sumsung 990 pro )

i got 5000 raw files in the catalog
and i really think to Buy the M2 ultra just becues of that !

its just me ?

Do you mean you are using the Main Menu (Library > Previews..> Build Smart Previews) to create Smart Previews for ALL 5000 photos? Really? Do you intend asking the outside editor to edit 5000 photos? And do you accept the storage space they will need in your system?

You do not need to go the main menu route yourself to create SPs, when you [Export as a Catalog]. There is the option in that dialog to create SPs only for the images you are including in the temporary catalog for the editor.
