Question

LR mobile sync issues

I’m using mobile with classic cc. When I create a collection (album?) in mobile on iOS, it syncs to Lightroom website. When I open classic cc, the photos are there but the collection I created on mobile is not. Why?

Hi jdecker1978,

Where are the images showing up in the Lightroom on your desktop now? Could you please try creating a new collection with few images on both Lightroom Classic on your desktop and Lightroom CC app on your mobile to check whether or not they sync between the two devices? If the images are syncing fine, the collections should sync across as well unless it is case sensitive or duplicate.

Thanks,

Akash

I demonstrated the issue during a screen share with adobe and they couldn’t figure it out. if I create a collection in each, the one created on my desktop will sync, while the one created online or on mobile will not. Though the images will. If created on mobile the images automatically sync to my users~pictures folder on my Mac which is driving me nuts. I store my images on a external and it keeps syncing them to my startup drive without my control.

You can change the location of the mobile images synced back to your desktop in the Lr preferences. Look for the Lr Mobile tab.

I’m not sure why the collection/album you create on a mobile device doesn’t sync back to Lr Classic. I’ll test it and see if I get the same result. It may be that Lr Mobile and Lr Classic won’t play nice together because Lr Mobile is really designed to work with the new Lr CC. I hope that is not the case.

Wow two weeks of online support and no one could tell me that Theresa!! Thanks so much! It doesn't fix the sync issue, but one of two solutions solved is a great start.

I really, really appreciate it. This has seriously hampered my workflow.
