Hi guys,

On my PRINT window, on the bottom, there are 4 clickable buttons - starting from the left a) Page Setup, b) Print Settings and on the right c) Print and, c) Printer. Which of these are part of and run by LR and which by Canon?

Same question for Template Browser - I have a great deal of difficulty remembering all the steps just to set it up right.

Thanks a lot.

None of the options behind the buttons are run by Lightroom Classic. All of the print options that are specific to Lightroom Classic are in the Print Job panel at the bottom of the right panel stack.

The buttons connect to macOS options, which integrate printer driver options (Canon in your case) into some menus and sub-panels, exactly the same as it works in all other Mac applications:

The four buttons you refer to are part of Lightroom Classic. If using Canon's Print plugin, then there will be similar buttons within the plugin.

Page Setup button. Opens the macOS Page Setup dialog box. In there, the Paper Size menu reflects the sizes supplied by the printer driver, so it will show Canon paper sizes, but only when your Canon printer is selected in the Format For menu at the top.

Print Settings button. Opens the macOS Print dialog box, so it does the same thing as the Printer button at the right end. The only difference between Print Settings and Print is that Print Settings lets you set up printer options without having to print immediately afterwards. If you just want to set print options as you go, forget about Print Settings and just click Printer.

Print button. This is like a one-click shortcut to print. It immediately prints, using whatever the settings are in Print Settings or Printer. So only click Print if you already set things up properly in Print Settings.

Printer button. This is the same as the File > Print command in other Mac applications: It opens the standard macOS dialog box for printing. As in other Mac applications, after you select your Canon printer in the Printer menu at the top, you can select Canon options from the sub-panels.

The Template Browser does let you save a mix of settings from the Page Setup and Print Settings buttons, and the Lightroom Classic Print Job panel.
