I couldn't see a way of just emailing Adobe about this so I'll post this and hope it gets to the right people. If you attempt to download Lightroom 4 from this link

Download Photoshop Lightroom

The windows download link is a .dmg file, I've tested in other browsers and it's the same thing. I luckily found an old installer for 4.4.1 on an old hard drive so I'm fine but Adobe should probably sort this out

No, Adobe must have fixed it since you first tried. The link was wrong on June 11: Re: Lightroom update 4.4 does not download
