After noticing switching images in Develop was significantly slower in 14.3 I did some further testing against 14.2 - in each case I did the following steps.
Renamed Prefs, etc so app behaves as a clean install
Created a new catalog
Imported 480 images with minimal previews
Selected all images in Library and created 1:1 previews
14.2 took 313s
14.3 took 710s
I also note that 14.3 seems to have a fix to stop thumbnails reverting to embedded previews and wonder if that fix has caused the new issue.

Thanks for the detailed analysis. Please share some specifics about your workflow:
What format of images are you working on?
Where are the catalog & source images stored, internal or external drives?
Please include the System info as well.
Thanks!

@Sameer K
Images are .cr3 files from Canon R6mk2s
Catalog stored on an internal NVMe drive which is exclusively for catalog files
Images on internal 4tb SSD which is excusively for images
OS/Apps on seperate NVMe.

For information only. I am unable to reproduce the issue described above on 3 separate Mac computers (M1 Ultra, M3 Max and M3 MacBook Air). Each of the computers is running Sequoia 15.4.1.

I've tested on 2 windows machines, both showing the slow down.

It would be helpful if another Windows users obtained similar results when using 14.2 and 14.3.

we don't need two threads on the exact same problem, let's continue to discuss here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/14-3-much-slower-switching-images-in-de...

The 1:1 preview issue described above is not the same issue that the op originally raised in the thread you refer to. That thread relates to Embedded Previews, although I acknowledge that the OP did also mention 1:1 in a later post.

@dj_paige Really? After suggesting I submit it as a bug you then complain because I have?

Bug reports do not go in the "Discussion" part of the forum, which is where you placed it. They go in the "Bugs" part of the forum. Also, to report bugs, you need to provide step-by-step instructions, which you did in your first thread, but not in the 2nd thread. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-how-do-i-write-a-bug-report/idi-p/12386373

Hey, @ShootingPixelsAndy. I did move the post to discussions. I've shared the details with our team, and if Lightroom behaves as reported, I'll move it back to bugs and set the status appropriately.
You can read more about posting bugs here: <Rikk shared above>
Thanks!

@Rikk Flohr: Photography I posted in bugs at the suggestion of @dj_paige who then complained I'd created a duplicate post in discussions, I hadn't. Damned if I do....
Perhaps it would be useful if admins/mods stated they've moved a post when doing so and why to save all the grief and confusion. Posting in these forums is often painful, overly bureaucratic and far from encouraging.

That is why I tagged you both in the post explaining forum best practices.
Now you both have the same information.

If the assumption is that new posts in bugs aren't bugs don't let users make new posts there in the first place and save the hassle? All I want to do is report a problem I've encountered but, as always, I spend more time jumping through hoops and doubting my own existence than actually getting any help.
I even bit the bullet and tried to contact support knowing full well I was in for an hour or more of scripted responses of things I'd already tried and done, but having waited and waited I was dumped out of the chat due to "my" inactivity waiting for an agent to pick up the request.

Anyone else notice that moving between images in 14.3 is significantly slower than 14.2?
In 14.2 the switch is almost instant, even outside of the cached range. In 14.3 just clicking on the next image in the strip and the delay is 2 or 3 seconds.
Tested with a brand new catalog and vanilla settings.
I did notice that 14.3 seems to have a fix for thumbnails no longer reverting to the embdedded preview once they've been viewed in Develop so I wonder if the slow down is somehow related to that "fix"?

I have not noticed that in LrC 14.3, Windows 11. Please provide your system information (Help->System Info)
Try resetting preferences https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
Try clearing the LrC cache https://www.bwillcreative.com/how-to-clear-your-lightroom-cache/

As stated above, I have checked with a clean install with vanilla prefs, etc. still the same. Further testing shows it is definitely related to embedded previews.

Clean install does not delete the preference file. I do not know about cache.
Please explain: "further testing shows it is definitely related to embedded previews".

I renamed all the root Adobe folders in AppData so it was a clean install.
Further testing shows loading images with the embedded preview badge is noticably slower than those with an existing preview when compared to 14.2 doing the same thing.
14.3 switching images: https://youtu.be/opBeEpPBBGo
Notice that when I click on an image with an embedded preview badge it takes over a second to appear.
14.2 switching images: https://youtu.be/F_biAOyiQJs
This time images appear almost instantly with embedded preview badge and even much further along the strip.

Looking at your screen recordings closely, in LR 14.2, when you click on a thumbnail showing the embedded-preview badge, Develop shows the embedded preview briefly and then replaces it with a camera-raw rendered version of the full image. But in your LR 14.3, it doesn't show the embedded preview initially -- it just waits until the camera-raw rendered version is finished and then displays that.
On my Mac LR, I don't notice any change in behavior in LR 14.3
