Question

LRc 14.5 Transform Panel no longer working well

I do architectural type work and use the transform panel constantly. After this new 14.5 update, whenever I use the typical "vertical" or "auto" upright presets, the results are less than perfect most of the time. I believe something has changed with this update, and in my opinion it's much worse. It worked like a charm before, so if indeed I'm right and you changed the way it works, please....change it back!!

Here's a perfect example in the screenshot. After using the "vertical" button in the transformm panel. Check the right side of the frame here, that wall edge is nowhere close to vertically straight. "Auto" produced similar results. Past versions of Lightroom Classic would never miss that bad, or at least very rarely.

My LR 14.5 / Mac OS did a good job with Transform > Vertical on your screenshot:

In the screenshot of the Facebook discussion above, it's not clear if the included image was supposed to be an example of how badly LR was doing -- vertical guidelines added by Mac Preview align perfectly with the vertical lines in that photo:

Adobe is very unlikely to pay attention to a relatively small number of complaints here or on Facebook without having examples of where LR 14.5 does poorly compared to previous versions. If you provide examples, full-resolution JPEGs (not screenshots), that do badly in LR 14.5 but better in previous versions, that would form the basis of an actionable bug report. Attach them here to your reply here.  I can easily run past versions of LR going back years.

I'm speaking as someone who has filed or confirmed hundreds of bug reports here over the years (of which Adobe has fixed a good fraction):

But if you just want to gripe unproductively, be my guest.

The purpose of the Facebook post was to show/verify that this is not just my one sole opinion, but a new and recent complaint of other full time architectural photographers. My screenshot example (that you applied transform to) had already been transformed. The fact that you needed to "fix" what I posted is exactly my point. Lightroom failed that simple transform twice already (both auto and vertical were tried), until it was finally corrected by your third attempt. Previously that would have been a slam dunk, but now again, I'm here to say, it's just not working correctly and if anyone from Adobe is monitoring this, they can look into it.

To add info, here's a new, current discussion in a Facebook group of fellow architectural photographers re-iterating the same frustration. (see attached photo comments) It seems that it's not just "me" who has found the software is behaving differently than it did in the recent past.

Tell them to report the problem here in the Adobe Community, with examples. Complaining about it on Facebook will never get anything fixed.

Show us screen captures, before and after using Transform. Use the Insert Photos icon to include the screen captures in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

I don't have any informations about changes in the section of Lightroom.

Please describe your issue more detailed and step-by-step so we can try to reproduce.

If possible show us some screenshot so we can see the issue.

Are you an Adobe employee? The "step by step" is very simple, I hit the button "vertical" in the transform panel and the result is not accurate enough. Same for "auto". There's not really any process, or troubleshooting to be done. Unless you are processing dozens of photos in this manner you are not likely to be able to "reproduce" it AND the results are somewhat subjective. Having said that, the software engineers at Adobe do know if that part of the software has changed. And that's why I ask if you are an employee. While I appreciate your help, a forum member being able to reproduce my problem is not really going to be helpful, or at least I don't understand how it could be. But I will add some screenshots here when able.
