LRC Archive, macOS & StuffitExpander
First time visiting the community. I would greatly appreciate your help with a question.
I run LRC (Release 12.1) on an Apple M1 Max (Ventura 13.1). All has worked well until a few days ago. Then, when trying to close LRC after an editing session, and so backing up my archive automatically, I received a message that my Archive exceeded 4 GB. I'd not seen this message before, and didn't understand the significance, so I clicked the "more info" link. From what I found to be a vague message, I concluded that Adobe will not be able to read archives created on a Mac that exceed 4GB, and that I should therefore download third party compression software, with options mentioned including StuffItExpander. The same notice suggested this might not apply to LRC 6.8 or later, but this is a bit fuzzy, and I continue to receive the message.
Can I just ignore the message, and continue as in the past? If so, how do I remove the message? If I do need to take extra measures, and so download Stuffit Expander or similar, do I need to change any settings in my Mac, LRC, or both to return to seamless archiving? Or will I have to manually activate the compression software every time I want to add something to my archive, or to access the Archive?
Grateful for any guidance you can offer.
Thank you, Warrick
