I am noticing that when I delete and place new photo cells on a page layout, any text in an adjacent text cell disappears. It doesn't go to the back and cannot be retrieved.
I finished a book in early December 2022 and did not notice this issue. The new book I began around December 10th has this problem occurring regularly. In fact, approximately 25 pages that included text cells with photo cells were mysteriously wiped out - no text.
I recovered with a previous backup (good reason to backup regularly). Now, I am writing all text in a separate tool and pasting it into LrC text cells. This is cumbersome, but now necessary.
Is anybody else experiencing this issue?

If I understand your question, this might help-
Photo Text that appears in the Cell adjacent to a photo is linked to the Cell and the Photo in the Cell.
Delete the Photo and [Photo Text] deletes with it.
If you want a Cell on a Page with Text that always remains-
[Right-Click] on a blank area of the page and choose- Add Cell > Photo Description-
Then you will have a permanent 'Text' Cell that is not affected by any photo nearby.
And you can Copy & Paste text from anywhere (eg. a Word file)
(Note: If the amount of text (characters or font size) exceeds the boundaries of a 'Photo Description' cell the selected cell will indicate a small red [+] icon on the lower-right corner of the cell.)

Any chance you have white text on a white page background?
Yes "very perplexing". Can you post a short video or screen-clip to show your problem.?

I still do not have a clear 'picture' of the problem you are seeing.
If you can "apply a different color" to text in a Photo Description Cell, then the text must be there, yet you say it disappears. Can you explain in more detail.
I cannot make sense of your statement- "when I paste back into the cell, all the formatting is there, but not the actual text."
Some screen-clips would be helpful! Use the 'Landscape' [Insert Photos] icon above a reply to post screen-clips.
