I have a new Mac book air and have just downloaded LR and LRC. Neither program can see my photos file. I have checked that LR has all permissions required. Please help.

Let's start with the basics.

  1. What action in Lightroom Classic leads you to say "LrC cannot see my photos file"?
  2. Did you copy or move the photos to the new computer?
  3. In LrC, are you using a catalog created on the previous computer; or is this a new catalog?
  4. If you get an error message, please provide the exact complete unedited error message.
  5. What do you mean by "photos file"?? Please be specific and detailed.
  6. Show us a screen capture of the entire Import dialog box from LrC. (Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply)
