Yes, I know I need to upgrade my desktop computer. Windows 10, Intel Core l7-3770 CPU, 3.4 Hz, 32 GB Ram. However, LRC 14.01 worked fine a week ago, and now does not show preview photos on the import screen. It also does not show all my files in the Folders section; I have a dedicated external hard drive that has all my photos and it only shows 2 old folders. I can see them using File Explorer, but LRC does not.
What happened in a week of not being used?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hey @darrellc48914058,
Thanks for sharing the basic details and a clear description of what’s going on.
It’s definitely strange for things to suddenly stop working after they’ve been fine—let’s try a few things that might help:
First, check that your external drive is still mounted with the same drive letter Lightroom Classic expects. If the letter changed, LrC won’t be able to find those folders.
In the Folders panel, right-click any missing folders and choose “Find Missing Folder” to reconnect them.
For the missing previews during import, try resetting LrC’s preferences. You can do this by holding Shift + Alt while launching Lightroom Classic and confirming the reset prompt.
Could you also share your full system info? You can grab that by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it to your reply. We’ll get to the bottom of this!

... and now does not show preview photos on the import screen.
What does it show? Please provide a screen capture of the entire Import dialog screen, using the "Insert Photos" icon.
It also does not show all my files in the Folders section; I have a dedicated external hard drive that has all my photos and it only shows 2 old folders. I can see them using File Explorer, but LRC does not.
We need another screen capture (or really several screen captures, one of LrC and one of Windows Explorer) using the above instructions.
