Question

LrC import settings on RAW files is enabling adjustments in Colour Denoise which is not needed

Hi, i've noticed Manual Noise Colour adjustments and sharpening being applied to all my images when importing RAW files to LrC and I wish to disable this. I have 'Camera Settings' chosen and on my camera it is set at Standard. This is under the Detail option in the Develop mode in LrC.

I've also tried to  create my own preset and unchecked all boxes, but it still adjusts the colour with denoise to the point i'm losing a lot of detail and animals feathers and fur is looking plastic with no detail. Also, when i adjust the sliders to zero, it increases the noise/grain even when iso was 100 so it appears to be introducing noise to the image. Can the colour denoise option be disabled on import?

This is happening on both my Dell laptop and MAC desktop, with both Nikon Z8 and Nikon D850 RAW files.

I'm really hoping this can be fixed, as it's taking me a heap of time to fix the automated adjustments LrC is imposing on my raw images.

The settings that shown in yourscreenshot are the default settings. It worked as designed and isn't a bug.

Workaround: Goto the develop modi and set in the Detailed section the Sharpening, Luminance and Color sliders to zero, Then create a preset, deactivate all options and mark only the Detail options (see screenshot).

Applying this preset on import your pictures.

Why would I check the boxes for Detail? It is these items I don't want any adjustments to be applied? Or is this how to do it?

I think you can safely assume that "standard" noise reduction in the camera is quite a bit more aggressive than the default noise reduction in LrC.

The screenshots indicate that the sharpening and color noise are at the default values. If you would rather that they were set to another value, then create new preset with your preferred values and configure the Preset Preferences to use the preset as the camera default. I've attached an example.
