LRC stopped opening all of a sudden on laptop with windows 11. I was running v13.4 and reinstalled and still wouldn't open. It shows up in task manager only. I deleted again and installed the earlier version and it worked fine for a month the there was an update to windows 11 and it repeated the same problem. I deleted and reintalled the last three versions and LRC still won't open, only shows up in task manager. I've read some of the fixes and tried looking for the cache file metrics. json to delete it like suggested and its not there.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you can offer

Problem solved. Adobe support figured out there was a corrupt catalog file. So i deleted all the LR files and they suggested to not save to Microsoft OneDrive, which i didn't realize it was doing. LR was actually accessing the catalog files on OneDrive instead of the hard drive. Now everything is working fine.

Bring up your Windows File Manager. Locate your catalog. Take a screenshot of that and post in a reply (please)

Ok, looks fine, I was suspecting a lock file. But that is not it.

P.S. are you keeping your backups and your working files on the same hard drive? Not the problem at hand, but an issue should that hard drive fail.

Probably best if you start a chat with Adobe. In the chat describe your problem just as you have above (copy paste the text?) And probably refer to this discussion (copy paste the url). And then be assertive as to requesting an actual Adobe Tech to contact you or be placed into contact with one (the Chat is clearly AI, not a person)

Oh, and keep good notes so that you can share back with others the solution.

for example. bring up a Adobe Support page, this one comes to mind:

Fantastic. By the way, you can blame the OneDrive and lack of awareness on that at the feet of Microsoft.

Also, I recommend that you go ahead and mark your reply stating the issue is solved as correct, As described in the scrrenshot from the community guidance. That way others looking for a solution, might find it via a search
