LrC sync to cloud seems stuck

Question

LrC seems to be stuck syncing to the cloud. I had several hundred images pending with sync errors in the Sync Activity window that I cleared by deleting the images in LrC Cloud. Now Sync Status under the gear icon shows 1870 files syncing, but Sync Activity shows 0 files Uploading, Downloading, or Pending. It's like LrC is stuck.

I recently came across a similar scenario and had to rebuild sync data (preferences > sync > hold down option key and tap rebuild sync data). There were two missing photos that caused the problem and I had to delete and reimport them. It took a bit of patience to wait for the data to rebuild and then identify the images causing the interruption.
