Question

(macOS 12.5.1) Lightroom Classic v11.5 not starting export on MacStudio M1 Max

1. Lightroom CC 11.5

2. MacOS 12.5.1, Mac Studio M1 Max

3. Export => Export as full res JPEGs

4. I would expect it to start the export.

As of a while I've noticed that sometimes when I want to export high res JPEG's, the export won't start. It will remain stuck at the first image. No matter how long I wait, it won't start. The solution is to restart LR and try again. Sometimes it will then work, sometimes I will need to do another restart and try again.

I have another collegue (same set-up) which has the exact same problem.

Any ideas?

Try disabling Prefs>Performance>Use GPU for Export.

edit: Nevermind, looks like that was already suggested.

I might suggest you use a different 'Rename' preset.

What are your "Custom Settings"?

You have no Custom Text in the Export dialog.

See the sample Filename you are getting. If you are not using a 'Sequence' in your Custom settings then the Export may be trying to write all files to the (one) same filename.

In the export dialog last item Post Processing, from the dropdown menu select "Do nothing".

Then do the export.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'd love to help you figure this out.

Where are the original images stored on an internal or an external drive? Where are you trying to export to?

Do you use the watermark preset in the export operation? Could you please share a screenshot of the export settings you are using?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

You are working on macOS 12.5.1, please follow the steps in this post to allow the required permissions to Lightroom on the macOS: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/quick-tips-how-to-give-full-disk-access-to-lightroom-classic-on-macos/td-p/12913413

Please try the export operation with the following suggestions.

  1. Go to Lightroom Classic > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set to 'Custom' > Select 'Use GPU for Export'
  2. Try to export without a watermark preset as a test.

You can test export with & without the GPU. You can also try exporting after disabling the GPU completely by setting 'Use Graphics Processor' to OFF from Custom or Auto.

Let me know how it goes,

Thanks!

Hey Sameer, thanks for the quick response.

- The images are located on the internal SSD

- I try to export to the internal SSD

I've already granted LR full disc access, but that didn't fix the problem. I don't export with a watermark usually. So that won't be it.

I will try the GPU settings and get back to you. (I had it on auto before)

Is there any specific reason you have "Go to export actions folder now" selected, in the Post Processing option.

What happens if you choose "Do nothing" option.
