Bonjour,

Hello,

Since one of the last update of LR Classic and the new Google module, altitudes of GPS points, if nonexistent in the metadata are not recovered from Google data.

Is it Google that no longer provides them, Is it a concern to retrieve LR Classic information?

Thank you for informing us clearly on this point. And especially to tell us in the real notes of each version, it is not good to hide the information to your customers.

Beware that the Fetch Altitude For Coordinates button (which I didn't notice until 99jon pointed it out) won't display the fetched altitude when you've selected multiple photos.  See this bug I just filed: Lightroom: Fetch Altitude For Coordinates doesn't display altitude | Photoshop Family Customer Commu... . The button fills in the Altitude field, it just doesn't display it properly.

This probably related to the bug fix that was implemented in the LR Classic 8.1 version:

Lightroom: Address lookup overwrites existing altitude | Photoshop Family Customer Community

The address lookup was always overwriting the altitude field with Google data even if previous data was present.

I also found in checking on this that the 'fixed' items list for ver8.1 is missing on Adobe's "Fixed issue in Lightroom Classic" page, it shows 8.0 and 8.2 only.  (For the prior versions, fixes are shown on the same page as new features)

This fixed list is still available on Victoria's site: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/whats-new-in-lightroom-classic-81/
