Mask overlay does not show up.

I tried selecting mask using subject, but LR (version 11.1) could not detect subject. So I decide to mask the surrounding using the brush too. But the overlay did not show up.

Try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

If this doesn't help you should try in the next step to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.
