I also reinstalled 14.2 with same result

All other tools work properly - this is happening only in the masks panel.

In preferences, AUTO is checked for my GPU which is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB.

Interestingly, if using my finger it works properly mainly because in order to click on SUBJECT with my finger, I end up lifting my finger away from the tablet after tapping on SUBJECT. If I'm using the pen on the tablet, and click on SUBJECT, and I lift the pen from the tablet, nothing happens; but if I then lift my entire hand away from the tablet, LR responds and detects the subject.
