Question

Metadata has been overwritten

Hi,

Not sure what happened - either when I shifted photos from a failing hard drive to a new one; or maybe when I did a metadata write trying to get some video metadata into lightroom after using a JB plugin for videos.

Lots of my photos have an incorrected 'Metadata Date' - 1 November 2022. Not sure what the pattern is - maybe just when I clicked cancel or shut LR down.

Any tips on how to get the standard metadata date that shows in other apps etc back to show the capture date or the creation date in a batch process?

Thanks

TBMK- "Metadata Date" has no relationship to "Capture Date".

You can change the "Metadata Date" on a photo by a simple [Save Metadata] [Ctrl+S], and the Capture Date does not change.

If you have the Catalog Settings for Metadata set to Auto-write metadata changes: This would update the "Metadata Date" when you edit any image.

Can you upload a screenshot showing the full Metadata panel?

They're shrunk but if you click it should all be visible. It's happened regardless of the camera.
