Missing photos errors

New Here ,
Dec 07, 2023 Dec 07, 2023

I have the missing photo icon (!) on several photos. I tried to use Library->Find all missing pohotos from the menu bar, but I get a pop up screen that says "No Missing Photos in the CAtalog". I tried to individually locate all the missing photos. I click the ! icon -> navigate to where it is located on my exteneral drive -> select the correct photo but I get an error that says that this name is associated with a different photo. WHen I click the button that says "Show photo in Library" it shows me that exact photo! I can't fix the missing photo error. Screenshot 2023-12-07 at 8.18.52 AM.pngScreenshot 2023-12-07 at 8.19.05 AM.pngScreenshot 2023-12-07 at 8.19.14 AM.png

"The file xxxxxxxxx is associated with another photo in the catalog"

This means you have (accidentally) imported this photo more than once; and so the other import is associated with this original photo. So you cannot fix missing photo icons this way. What you need to do is find all isntances of this photo in your LrC catalog. Please follow this procedure exactly as written, follow all four steps (not some of the steps), and report back what you find.

1. In the Lightroom Classic Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Classic Filter Bar
