move photos from iphone to hard drive using LR

Trying to move ( or copy ) photos on iphone 11 to an external hard drive using LR on mac.

Import recognizes the iphone and displays some of the iphone images but nothing happens when import pressed -- top left bar says importing but nothing happens. Is there any way to move or copy iphone photos using LR?

Are you using Lightroom Classic on your computer? If so there is much easier way to do this using Lightroom on your phone.

Turn on the sync in Lightroom Classic, and go to the sync preferences to designate the external hard drive as the destination. By default it is your Pictures folder but you can change it.

Then instal Lightroom on your phone, sign into your Creative Cloud account and import all of your photos. They will automatically sync through the cloud, and download to your computer.
