Question

My Lightroom classic will Not Open on Mac

Lightroom and Lightroom Classic won't open. It just keeps spinning. The other Adobe programs work perfectly fine. I'm using Ventura 13.7.

I have tried a clean uninstall, using OP/Shot, resetting preferences, and a regular uninstall. I have tried all the solutions I have found here.

Using Finder, bring up the folder your catalog is in. Does a lock file exist? Typically you should get an error message if this is the case when starting LrC, but IMO that error message does not always occur (perhaps user issue??)

So, I found the lock file. Deleted it. Started LRC, and the lock file was back. I haven't used LRC or LR on this user account before, could that have something to do with it? It works on the other user account on the iMac.

Ah! I see that i misunderstood the answer! I think creating a new account might be the only solution, but I was hoping to avoid that.

I don't think starting a new user account is the ONLY solution ... but its the next thing I would try.
