Previously (and still most of the time) pressing n in Lightroom Classic will revert to a library view with selected files tiled on the screen. This has always worked from the develop module too so you could make a few tweaks and hit n to return to your selection. Makes it easy to tweak and compare edits.
This was all fine but now since the mask panel was updated (yes that's good) if you happen to have added any kind of mask the keyboard shortcut doesnt work, you have to close the mask panel first before it will work. None of the other panels behave this way. Took me ages to realise what was causing this internittent problem. As there is no way to amend keyboard shortcuts (and why not!!!) please can this be put back the way it has been for years, its playing havoc with my muscle memory.
Thanks

This was a deliberate decision by Adobe. The N shortcut is assigned to both Go To Survey View and to Create New Mask, which is only active when you have the Mask panel open:
The shortcut for Create New Mask is hardwired into LR, but you could use the Any Shortcut plugin to change Go To Survey View to something else, e.g. Ctrl N on Mac (sic).

Thanks John, will give it a go. I realise it would put you out of business but weird that Adobe gives full customisation in PS but not Lightroom. Does that mean I can finally assign a shortcut key to full screen?!

I'd be delighted (honestly) if LR allowed full customization of keyboard shortcuts. The Any Shortcut plugin is a stopgap that has lots of restrictions imposed by LR's implementation of shortcuts.
I can finally assign a shortcut key to [fit] screen?!
There are two shortcuts already: Space and Z. They toggle the zoom between Fit and the current zoom level. So if you're zoomed in, type Space to get back to Fit.
