These icons randomly appeared yesterday, some only appear while importing. Where did they come from? What are they? Can I get rid of them? Helpppp lol

Can I get rid of them?

No.  (Not until you know what they are!)

What are they?

They are ALL part of a Lightroom-Classic Catalog and its 'companion' files.

Where did they come from?

You must have started a new Catalog (or moved an existing one) and placed it in the {Desktop} folder.

I suggest you create a new folder in your {Pictures} folder and call it {My Lightroom-Classic Catalog}, then move ALL of the folders and files you have circled in the screen-clip to the new folder.

You will then need to [Double-Click] on the {Lightroom Catalog-v11.LRCAT} file to 'Open' this catalog.

If you have created a new Catalog (in error) you will need to determine which, and where, is your correct working catalog to use.

That was super helpful! Thank you! I did what you suggested. I think I moved an existing one onto my desktop.

one more question...what does this mean?! I'm currently working on 4 sessions and don't want to mess anything up! Ty!

Your Catalog contains ALL the work you do to edit photos that are shown in the Catalog. You do NOT want to lose all that precious time in editing if your working catalog was to fail or become corrupt. That is when you would want a backup to restore.

The dialog you see appears when you [Close] a Catalog (& shut down LrC).

There are options to change in this dialog-

1) Frequency of Backup.  Yours is set to backup 'once a week'. Prolific editing may  prefer the 'After every exit' option.

2) A Catalog Backup MUST be on a separate physical hard-drive. You click on [CHOOSE] to set the folder location to save the Zipped backups.

You dialog suggests it couldn't find a location so it defaulted to the {Pictures} folder- NOT the best place!- Change this.

3) Two options check the Catalog when it backs up (Integrity, Optimize). It is useful to check these [on] to help maintain the Catalog (in the backup) in its best state.

What does "4 sessions" mean?  If you mean you have 4 Catalogs- then I suggest you consider merging them to 1, unless you have a very good reason for Multiple Catalogs.  See this forum thread-
