new pc specs 2023

Hi

I'm looking to assemble a new desktop in the coming month

For different reasons I want to buit this in a small case (SFX PSU, mini-ITX)

Due to these limitation I can only put a low profile CPU cooler capable of cooling CPU up to 95 W TDP

I was thinking to put i9-13700 (standard version, 65 WTDP). Since this is only at 2GHz , I was having doubts if this was sufficient (minimum specs for Lr)

Secondly I'm doubting on the GPU to be safe for the coming years to run smoothly possible new AI features coming up (as we have Denoise now). Choice between 4060Ti/4070/4070Ti

Thanks for your insights

Yes, and I don't know why the LrC specs requires >= 2GHz, I don't know why Adobe put that in there and then left it in there for probably a decade now, as processor speeds have increased maybe 10x over that time. Maybe requiring 2GHz in 2010 was important for some reason, but I honestly can't tell you if it still remains important.

Get the fastest CPU and GPU you can afford. 16GB or RAM (or more, depending on other programs needs). I'm skeptical that a small case with limited cooling capability is a good idea.

thanks for the answer, but it is not answering my question

Get the most expensive you can buy is not my preferred solution

I didn't mention other components because I'm not doubting on it (I foresee 64 GB)

regards

yes I agree. In conclusion I shouldn't worry to much about the CPU i7-13700.

It's the only sensible answer you can expect - nobody else knows your budget or other motivations, so "as good as you can afford" is all anyone can tell you.

Now doubtless some people will tell you what you "should" buy - it's easy to spend other people's money - but the fact is that only you know what your pocket will tolerate, so buying up to your spending power is actually excellent advice.

well we can have a discussion on that, but it is not the point. My budget is whatever it takes to have a reliable fast configuration where after some years I still have the feeling it runs smoothly (as I have today with the build I made end 2018). I know the 3 GPU I mention will do find, I also realise that Lr doesn't rely to much on GPU. But I was looking to any insights on possible evolutions on that

RTX 4060 or 4070 will be excellent and good for many years. The RTX 40-series has just come out and is the most up to date you can possibly get.
