Newer AMD Graphics drivers

Question

On a windows 11 computer. After upgrading to graphics drivers 24.1.1 (and also I have tried 24.2.1) both Lightroom and Photoshop randomly closed and Lightroom has problems with the graphics drivers and runs CPU only. This makes things like the denoising enhancement in Lightroom take well over 10 times as long.

I have reverted to 23.11.1 and it works perfectly.

As this is an editing PC and I don't play graphics-demanding games I only have problems with Adobe products. As I only have problems with Adobe products AMD are blaming Adobe for the problems.

There have been a couple other reports here of LR problems with the most recent AMD drivers that were solved by rolling back to an earlier version.

LR uses graphics processors much differently than most other apps. So it's fallacious for AMD to claim that just because problems only occur with LR it must be Adobe's issue. More likely it's a bug in the AMD graphics drivers that only LR (and/or PS) trip over.
