Nikon D850 Import Problems

I am currently having 2 issues with importing files from my new D850.

1. Previews are not available on import screen.

2. Lightroom is not recognizing and sorting images according to date. It wants to import all the photos on my memory card into a folder dated for the day I am importing. For example:

If I have photos taken on 12/1, 12/2, 12/3, and attempt to import the images on 12/5, Lightroom wants to put all the images into a 12/5 folder, ignoring the actual dates the images were taken.

Anyone experiencing this? Any solutions? Maybe a camera setting I haven't addressed?

These are setting in the Import dialog window.

In the Destination section of the right hand panel

Check "Into Subfolder"

Organize: By Date

Date Format: Chose a date format you want to use or if there isn't one you can edit a preset, once you have created a preset, to conform to the date format you like.

Here is a website explaining how to edit a import preset to format the date to what you want.

I'll give this a try, but I literally changed nothing in Lightroom and don't have this problem with my D800. It's only exhibiting this behavior with my new D850.

And I should update the problem as it seems that Lightroom is only recognizing the date of the most recently taken photo, so with my example above I get:

photos taken on 12/1, 12/2, 12/3 - import into Lightroom. Lightroom only creates a folder for 12/3 and imports all the photos into there. It does not create folders for 12/1 or 12/2.
