I can not get Lightroom classic to tether with my Nikon d850. It tethered on the Camera control 2 and can upload images to Lightroom but classic will not see my camera.
Just went with capture 1. Plugged it in opened the program and was shooting in seconds. Big fail adobe.

What EXACT version of LR are you using.
Open LR, go to the Help menu and select System Info. Post the first 5-10 lines of what comes up.

Are you using the cable that came with the d850? Another user with an older cable found it made a difference.

Have you used the tether feature in Lightroom with this camera previously?

just to the camera pro 2 software. I have now gotten to the point the tether controls come up when I try to import from the camera.

Is there a card inserted in the camera, and is it empty? If the card is NOT empty, then Lightroom will have to sort through all the images on the card before it can send an image to Lightroom through the tether process.

im in a catch 22 with that. it kinda sees it with an image on the card but won't shoot. a blank card does not register.

Don't know if this will help you. It's a little bit dated, but the principle is still the same.

I have a D7100, but I have never tried shooting tethered. A little curious about doing it, but have never tried.

Thanks a lot, you saved me! Never realised my card being in the camera was the problem. Cheers.

In our studio we are working with 2 D850's tethered to lightroom on MacBook pro's without any problems. Two newer D850 (higher serial numbers) won't tether at all. What ever we tried. not working! Downloaded a trial version of Capture One. Tethered worked like a charm in Phase One. Afterwards tethering with lightroom worked too with these new camera's...!! On MacBooks without Caputer One installed the newer Nikon D850's will not tether. What is going on??

I am experiencing the same issue. I purchased a new cable, tried multile cameras 850's 800's...the newest version of Lightroom Classic and it does not teather to my Nikon cameras. I experienced this in front of a client on a shoot. It is very frustrating. I had to get a trial of Capture Pro to fix my issue. Will Adobe fix their issue regarding teathering to Nikons?

You’ve posted to a very old thread. It is highly unlikely that the issue described in this thread, though not impossible, is the same issue which you are currently experiencing. Rather than resurrect an old thread that is seemingly similar, you are better posting to a new thread with fresh, complete information including system information, a complete description of the problem and step-by-step instructions for reproduction.
In the unlikely event the issue is the same, we will merge you back into the appropriate location.
Thank you!
