No longer able to change cop grid overlay, and other weird things

I thought I was entering a keyword string, but somehow hadn't clicked on the "add keywords" area and the letters I entered were interpreted as short cuts.  This is what I was typing "several linear scars on right flank just anterior to dorsal fin..." (FYI it's describing unique properties to identify a finback whale), in any event, I somehow went into a mode that changed the guidelines for cropping and somehow changed to a proofing mode, and my image became labelled with "filename AdobeRGB, Perceptual." Since then, I've been unable to effectively change some of the parameters I use for overlays.  I've tried to set things as they were, but the changes don't work.

To be honest I've been using Lightroom since it inception to characterize and catalogue whale photo-ID images as well as  edit photos.  I'm at a loss as to how to reverse my changes. Help would be much appreciated

The easiest way to "undo" these setting changes is to use the History panel in the Develop module left pane. Click on the last operation that you know you applied. This will remove all of the operations inadvertently applied above it and on the next setting change you apply they will be removed from History.

I forgot to add two additional steps you'll need to take. To undo the Master SoftProof Copy state 'AdobeRGB, Perceptual' go to menu Settings and uncheck 'Proof.' Select the Crop tool and hit the H key to turn off the Tool Overlay.
