No longer able to rate just Target Photo when multiple photos selected

Up until LR 11.0 it seems, you used to be able to select multiple photos, select a target photo within that selection, and then rate just that target photo. Now it rates all the photos, which is not helpful. This needs to be a feature that can be toggled on or off.

I used to be able to proof multiple images to a client via Survey View, and then rate their favorites, but now I cannot. Please change this back!

Try resetting your LrC Preferences file as outlined at the below link. Place a copy of the current preferences file on your desktop so you can replace it if the reset does not help.

Are you using a single Lightroom window or is the secondary display active?

Thanks! This fixed it! What's weird though is that after doing this, toggling the Auto Sync now toggles it as well (makes sense). Before reseting the preferences though, toggling the Auto Sync didn't do anything.

Glad to hear that resolved it. When installing updates that add new features the Preferences file is updated to accomodate them. This can sometimes cause the it to become corrupted (i.e. wierd behavior). The same can happen when doing a complete uninstall and reinstall since the original Preferences file is retained.

Are you in Grid, Loupe, Compare, or Survey view? If you're not sure, do the View menu command, and the current view will be checked.

If you're in Grid view, make sure Target Photo is selected:

Also, make sure the menu item Metadata > Enable Auto Sync is unchecked.

The view I'm in doesn't seem to matter, it does it in Grid and Survey view. I already tried turning off Auto Sync, and it still does it.
