Question

No Photos

I am running a Mac OS Catalina Ver 10.15.2 and the latest version of Lightroom Classic, all up to date. I am trying to download some photos taken yesterday, and when I try importing, LR recognises my phone, but nothing else.  No new or old photos. This problem has just started, since I have downloaded my photos from this phone on a number of occasions, with no problem.  What am I missing? I do get a spinning on the bottom left, but nothing else.

So, a MAC OS Catalina issue.

First possibility, one the Adobe techs probably tried out

Close Lightoom, in your OS bring up System Prferences, select Security and Privacy, Click on the Privacy button, scroll down to Files any Folders. Make sure Lightroom Classic and while you are at it Photoshop can access all those boxes

I am having the same problem with no photos for either iphone or Canon camera source for Lightroom Classic and Mac Catalina 10.15.2.    I am wondering about the changes Adobe made for Jeffr01 below that solved his problem.

When did you upgrade your MAC OS to Catalina v 10.15.1?

When did you update it to v 10.15.2?

was your previous useful import before v10.15.1?

Did the import work after v10.15.1? Before 10.15.2?

This is an ongoing issue, and after the update (no matter when it was done) the import doens't work anymore. It looks like  Apple changed its MacOS I/O functionality and import in programs like Lightroom no longer works for any camera, not just iPhone or other mobile devices. I can not see any of my images when I connect my Nikon Z7 camera either. It used to work, but now with MacOS 10.15.2 it does not anymore.

Either that, or Adobe screwed up the import functionality after last week's update. So it could be Adobe's fault too, or both.

The good thing is, when I connect an external card reader I can see my images and I'm able to import them, but not when the camera is directly connected via USB cable to my Mac.

Not knowing much about computers, i went directly to the horses mouth. Talking to Adobe they made some changes in the operating system, and re downloaded the last update, and the photos started to appear again. So now I an back to business as usual. Thanks for the import.

Just found out that Photos will recognize all of my phone photos including the new ones. But for the last 3 years, I have been importing directly into LR.
