Organizing RAWs and JPGs in Lightroom Classic and Mobile
Huge Fuji X fan! I'm bouncing between the X-Pro2 and X-T5 at the moment. I use Lightroom (classic and mobile mostly) for thousands of my photos and am trying to figure out the best way to integrate RAWs and JPGs in my library. For importing, I load all of my files on a PC to LR Classic.
About half the time I do prefer the JPGs with film sims over the RAWs without the need for edits, other times I just want to tweak the JPGs just a tad or just start from scratch with RAWs. With this in mind, how do I best set up file organization? One thing to keep in mind is that I use LR Mobile to post to socials, so the organization I want would have to allow me to access the RAWs and JPGs in LR Mobile.
- Do I put JPGS and RAWs in the same folder and import those folders direct to Lightroom?
- Should I keep JPGs and RAWs in separate folders if I want to bounce between editing both formats? Should I rename them as well if I want to keep them separate?
- Side question:
- Is there a blanket way to import White Balance and Tone settings from JPGs to raws?
Thanks in advance for the help!
