Hi,
I updated ton LRC 15.0 and it keep crashing on startup, at the catalog conversion page.
I use windows 11 25H2, windows update up to date.
GPUs : Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti with Studio drivers up to date
Intel integrated 770 up to date
i went back to 14.5 and crashes also immediatly on startup. The only version that work without crashing is the 14.0. I tried to reset the preferences, but nothing changes. Can you provide some help to fix this problem?
Charles
I could not get LRc v15 to execute. Event viewer showed error in MSVCP140.dll
I finally fixed it by downloading and reinstalling Visual c++ 2015-2022 Redistributable, both x86 and x64 versions, and copying MSVCP140.dll from \windows\system32\ to \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\
Why did I have to do this. Why didn't LRc install take care of getting proper version of MSVCP140.dll into proper folder?

I have the same problem. A couple of days ago I updated to V15 but didn´t get to open Lr. Today I tried to open Lr but nothing happened!
I tried reinstalling it, reseting the preferences, checking for possible .lock files in the catalog folder but none of that worked. After going back to V14 I was able to open Lr again. I updated to V15 again and the same problem comes up.
When clicking on the LrC icon on the desktop or inside the Creative Cloud nothing happens. Not even a window with information pops up.
I'm running Windows 11 Pro.
Hope someone can offer some Information about this issue. I´ve been a LrC user for almost 10 years and never had such a problem.

That could possibly be caused by a defective catalog.
I suggest trying to upgrade the old V 14.x catalog again. You should be able to make that happen by double clicking on the latest V14.x catalog.

My catalog is working fine in 14.5.1. Before I upgraded I made a backup of the catalog including an optimization. V15.0 doesn't reach the point where any catalog conversion will start.

Try importing your LrC 14.X catalog into a brand new empty LrC 14.X catalog, as explained here. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/updatig-to-classic-15/m-p/15571920#M416...
Then re-install LrC 15 and try to open this new catalog you have created.

I started Lightroom pressing Ctrl to get to the catalog chooser, but that doesn't work either. I see lightroom.exe for a couple of seconds in the explorer than it vanishes. It happens so fast, I don't think it's already loading any catalog.
The only log file I can find lrc_console.log, which hints on an exception during start:

I am using Windows 11 and having the same issue. I have found that my issue are due to broken Microsoft Visual C++ distributable packages. I've tried delteting the packages and reinstalling to no avail,....but I just thought I would add my 2 cents here just in case it helps give you some direction.

Can you try opening a different catalog file and see if that opens? You can do this via these instructions:
Quote from Victoria Bampton's book "Adobe Lightroom Classic Missing FAQ":
"If Lightroom’s closed, hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) / Opt key (Mac) while opening Lightroom. In the Select Catalog dialog, it lists your recently used catalogs, or you can open another existing catalog or create a new catalog."

Same problem here - whay isn't Adobe responding
By @natural_Glimpse5051
So is your question how to open the catalog? Or is your question "whay" isn't Adobe responding? I'm confused.
We might be able to help with getting your catalog to open, in fact we have made suggestions in this thread, you should try those; but you really don't seem to be asking about that. I can't possibly say why Adobe is not responding.

Hi, we're sorry about the trouble!
Please share the operating system you're working on and explain the behavior you observe if it differs from the one described above.
Also, after you try to launch Lightroom Classic (and it doesn't launch), go to the Event Viewer by typing it in the Search for Windows, then expand Windows Logs, and then click on Applications. If you see a recent error, click on it and check if it is related to Lightroom Classic. Share the details of the error here so that we can understand what's happening.
Meanwhile, try uninstalling all Adobe apps using the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool and then reinstalling them to check if that makes a difference. Do restart your machine once before reinstalling the apps.
You can check how to use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool here: https://adobe.ly/3LuVvxP
Thanks,
Nikunj

@Dimitris Sof you haven't explained what your problem is. Better you should explain to us what is happening in a new thread, rather than this thread, people will be happy to help you in a new thread.

Thanks for sharing the Event Viewer logs @Joh_ and @Dimitris
In both cases the file causing the issue seems to be the MSVCP140.dll, which is a file associated with the Visual C++ redistributable packages. Check out the article here: https://adobe.ly/43fOHud
Let us know if that helps!
Thanks,
Nikunj

For what it is worth, I am having the same problem. I have installed many Adobe products for 33 years now and have tried every restart, cold boot, Windows updates, Microsoft Visual C++ distributable packages reinstall and have the same problem. Running Windows 11 Pro and when you launch Lightroom Classic 15 it flashes and shows up momentarily in Task Manager and then disappears. The same thing happened with two machines on two Adobe accounts, and as soon as I reinstall 14.5.1 everything works fine.

Perfect, this is the solution. The MSVCP140.dll in \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic\ of the previous 14.5.1, I think.
I did delete it before upgrading and it wasn't replaced with 15.0.

I had a similar problem. Sorry for my english.
Windows 10, LrC v15.
Very small window of Lightroom was opening (about 1/30th of a screen) and immediately appeared as not responding.
I tried launching an old catalog, I tried reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++, rebooting multiple times and even copying MSVCP140.dll as Cloud8photo suggested above. Then I made new catalog during opening (ctrl+click) - it worked. When Lightroom finally started I finally managed to open my normal catalog.

I cannot download Lightroom Classic on my Dell laptop. I think it may be due to operating system issues. My laptop uses Snapdragon. I have called Adobe customer support 4 times and each time they say they will look into it and call me back.
Any suggestions?
