I updated LrC to 12.4 yesyerday. Since then a number of pixels in multiple colors appear appear quite often on the image, mostly in the areas of blacks/darks and when using Tone Curve commands. It's similar to the red/blue pixels which denoted clipping in the areas of blacks/whites, but they appear in very many different other colors. Sometimes they disappear, or decrease, after actioning the commands again, sometimes they do not. Is anybody else facing the same problem which I encounter now for the vey first time after many years of use of LrC? Thank you in advance for your advise.
Summary:
We can still not replicate this failure on test or production machines at Adobe. This appears to occur on Lightroom 12.4/Camera Raw 15.4 and later on very old Macs (8 Years and older) and is likely due to out-of-date video drivers on no longer-supported or updated GPUs.
The issue manifests as visual color artifacts in the Develop view only but doesn't always appear on exported images. It can also manifest as less-than-black deep shadow areas.

It does appear on exported images. I am not able to currently work due to this - is there a fix other than buying a whole new system?!!!

@shywolfphotography, you can try setting Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off, which works for some but doesn't work for others. If that doesn't help, the only other workaround is to roll back to LR 12.3.

It seemed to work but then exported with the issue again!! I roleld back but then 12.3 won't import my catalog as it's 'too new' so now i seem out of options!

If you didn't delete it, your v12 catalog should still be around, just open that one. You will not have any changes or imports since you upgraded but at least you will be able to work.

But I will have lost all of my work yes?

Only what you did since you upgraded. You could also make v13 save all your changes to the recently imported images to xmp files and then when you import those images into your v12 catalog in lr Classic v12 it will have most of the edits and keywords etc you did.

How many folders have you created in LrC 13?
Try this. For all folders you have created in LrC 13, In LrC, Library Module, Grid View, select all photos and Click Control (PC) or Command (Mac) + S. That willl create XMP files that have the processing information that you have done under LrC V 13. do this with LrC 12 closed.
Then... In LrC V 12, import those folders that were originally only in LrC 13. This will give you the processed versions in LrC V 12.x. You should see a message to update the metadata. Do that.
I tested this yesterday to see if I could use the LrC V13 XMP files to update the same images in LrC 12 on a different machine and it worked fine.

This happens to me in all the raw images that I import into Lightroom... it is not the color profile, it is not the shadow or highlight warning, and it is not solved with either old or new versions of Lightroom. They are raws from a Canon R5.
Does anyone know the solution?
Thank you

Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.
If you're on Mac, click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner and do About This Mac. Post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the About window.
There are many reports that setting Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor to Off helps with the image display, but many report that it does not help with Export, most likely due to a LR bug in Export. There are many reports that rolling back to LR 12.3 works around the issue, with no reports I know of to the contrary.

Hello,
I have just acquired a Sony A7CR and I have erratic color display problems similar to clipping (even though this is not activated) on images viewed in LRC and in their export as well as solid colors dark. This appears randomly on images as soon as I start developing them and makes it impossible. IF I exit LRC and re-open it, the same image may appear without these artifacts, or not. Is random. This looks like a bug, has this ever happened to you?
Regards

@toto19, like the others, you're on an older Mac with a graphics processor whose drivers are no longer supported by AMD. See here for two possible workarounds:

I solved the problem quickly, but not definitively, by exiting and re-entering Lightroom, or by activating HDR in the basic menu,
near the automatic and B&W buttons.

I can't view your screen capture ... you should include screen capture by using the "Insert Photos" icon and not via file attachments.
Probably this problem: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-artifacts-resembling-clipping-warnings-odd-b...
In this thread, it is stated: "This appears to occur on Lightroom 12.4 and later on very old Macs ( 8 Years and older) due to out-of-date video drivers on no longer-supported/updated GPUs. Some customers report that disabling GPU restores functionality to normal. Others have reported that updating to Sonoma has provided relief. "

When typing accented characters in Lightroom Classic (MacOS Apple Silicon, latest version) the program crashes.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.
Did you see a crash dialog?
Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?
Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Apple’s?

Couldn't send any report because Lightroom Classic automatically stopped. No crash dialogue from Adobe or Apple.
I can replicate the error easily, just typing, i.e, ò or à.
BTW, I'm using Sonoma 14.1.1
