New Here ,
Jun 16, 2025 Jun 16, 2025

Lightroom Classic versjon: 14.4
Operativsystem: Mac OS 15

As of this new version I am not able to denoise a batch of photos, only individual ones. Can't find any guidance as to how this can be fixed. Hope you can help me, thanks.

Select the images to be Denoised, enable Auto Sync, then click on the Denoise checkbox. You can use the slider below the Denoise checkbox to fine tune the amount of noise reduction applied to all or individual images in real time.

In Lightroom Classic, there are 5 ways Batch editing can be realized.

  1.  Auto-sync
  2.  Sync
  3.  Copy/Paste
  4.  Presets
  5.  Previous

In Lightroom Desktop, your 2 options are:

    1.  Copy/Paste
    2.  Preset

Lightroom Desktop does not have Sync, Auto-Sync, or Previous.

For more information, please refer to this video by @brianmatiash, in which he demonstrates these options and provides additional context.

I have followed this thread with interest and have done some individual tests using the Auto Sync on while applying to a batch of images.
What I observe is the AI Denoise process is that the Denoise is done to each image individually and it is not just applying the same edits as done to the first image. The individual data is stored in the support data file alongside the Catalog file. I do not use the option to Automatically write Metadata to XMP, as this will slow the process and utilize additional storage. This process is obviously a complicated process and takes some time to complete.

My experience is it takes approximately 2 min for each raw on my Windows computer to complete the process. One positive thing is the edits are stored in the data files and Catalog and I can delete the earlier Denoise DNG and Tiff files generated in earlier versions.

I am looking forward for improvements going forward.

Just my 2 cents.

The other option to check is to use Adobe Camera Raw to do the Denoise and import the file created to LrC.

I am using LrC 14.4.

Two minutes is a long time. Is your workflow good? On my Mac M1 it takes around 30 seconds or even less to perform the Denoise process.

The time it takes depends on these things:

If we’re only talking about the Denoise time alone, then the time it takes depends on the power of the GPU and the number of megapixels in the image. A very powerful Mac or PC GPU might take 5 seconds for a 20 megapixel image, but another image with twice as many megapixels would probably take 2x longer. An older or low-end GPU might denoise the same image in anywhere between 2 minutes to 45 minutes or more depending on how capable it is. (On Apple Silicon Macs, more GPU cores = faster Denoise.)

If images are synced that have additional AI features applied, such as masks, an Adaptive profile, reflection removal, etc. then that gets added to the sync time per image.

So my 4-year-old M1 Pro can usually denoise a 24MP image in around 30 seconds, but if there are other AI settings to sync, it could take several more seconds per image depending on what’s applied.  But a new M4 with a lot more GPU cores would cut that time significantly.

I did a further test with Denoise a batch of nine raw images using Auto sync and the approximate time per file was 53.3 seconds. So it's definitely not as much as 2 min.

Previous to the update I could do the denoise and continue to work on other photos on Lightroom Classic. While doing denois on newly updated denoise it freezez all actions on Lightreoom, I have to sit for 5 minutes till it is done before I work on any thing else. Why it freezez the Lightroom while doing denoise?

@Jay3464505226dj: "While doing denois on newly updated denoise it freezez all actions on Lightreoom, I have to sit for 5 minutes till it is done before I work on any thing else."

Many have complained about that, and it's quickly become one of the more popular feature requests:

If you update that idea in the upper-left corner and add your constructive "me too", that might make it a little bit more likely Adobe will reconsider

There are many ways to batch Denoise. Here are two ways:

1: Select all images, go to the Develop module, enable 'Auto Sync' by clicking the small switch in front of the 'Synchronize' button, and then enable Denoise for the image. All selected images will now have Denoise enabled. Don't forget to disable Auto Sync again!

2: Create one or more Denoise presets with different settings. Apply a preset to all selected images.

This is incredibly frustrating. This does NOT work like batch denoise did in the past. I really regret doing the update. Why would they make things more difficult to do??

Go to the creative cloud app, click the apps tab on the left, scroll to Lightroom, hit the three dots, click "other versions", click install on the previous version that had the old style Denoise, live with the fact it's going to tell you there's an update from now on.

LG, Caro

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Merci

This update completely messed up my workflow.  I switched to another photo editor but I use Lightroom for the Denoise.  Mainly because I store my catalog on my NAS which allowes me to work from any of my home computers.  Lightroom does not allow this.

Anyways, I would add the folders for my selects to be denoised, old version of Lightroom would batch them and create a new file.  With this update, I have to wait for all the photos to denoise then export.  I would usually let it do its thing overnight but now I have peridocally check in on its progress so I can export to a .tif format and edit in my other photo editor.  Really messing up my workflow now that it's non-destructive.

Lets say I have 50 photos I want to denoise with the AI powered RAW denoise tool. Is there a way to que these all up into a single operation so I don't have to denoise each individually (10-20 second operation each time) ? I think it would be helpful to more than just me if I'm not missing something. Thanks!

I miss being able to denoise multiple images at the same time. Now when I try to do it, it just bugs out and make the images look glithcy and weird. Hope the "Enhance" feature comes back to the new updates.

Normally, you can apply the new Denoise to a batch of images using Copy/Paste Settings, Sync Settings, or Auto Sync (which I don't recommend).

1. Please post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of what you see when you try that.

2. Do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

When I try to copy the settings to multiple images at once, this happens. Then I have to manually update AI settings, which is basically the same as applying the effect manually to all my images.

I'm sorry for late reply.
