Panorama creation not working

I'm trying to create a pano for the first time in Lightroom CC and it just freezes on "creating preview" Doesn't even start on the status bar.
Nothing happens. I've tried with different sets of 3 photos and get the same result. Tried different settings in Panorama options and get the same freeze.
The images are all DNG files shot at 105mm with my canon 5D MkIII
Thank You

What exact version of Lightroom are you using? I have created panoramas from as few as two images to as many as 18 images (three horizontal rows of six images) without any problems whatsoever.

Hi Jim,
I'm in the most current version of CC. As I said, I tried this with a few different combos. The attachment is as far as it gets

I am experiencing exactly the same issue since upgrading to Lightroom Classic--the panorama function is completely broken and does not work anymore. Stalls on creating previews, Lighroom is still responsive, does not crash, but does not create a panorama.
Please fix this as a matter of urgency.

I have also had problems with the Photo Merge -> Panorama. In my case, the dialog often won't let me change projections. I restarted Lightroom, and it works now. So, you might try doing a restart.

A full reboot seems to have fixed it for now.

That works for me as well but only for a little while. If I try to merge images into a panorama the next day after I reboot the computer I am back to the same problem.

Hi @alsalphotography! 😊
I noticed this thread is a bit old. To make sure your comments don’t get buried, could you create a new thread and share all the relevant details about the issue? I’d love to help!
Thanks a bunch! Alek

I am also using the latest Lightroom Classic CC 7.0.1 Release, and it will NOT create any panorama's. It puts them in the queue, and doesn't finish the output. Lightroom continues to work, but the panorama feature is no longer working. REALLY Adobe! Any recommendations? Windows 10, Core i7 processor, 12GB ram. Rebooted the computer again, still no panorama. Please help.

That is odd! I'm using a Windows 10 computer that is 5+ years old, 8 GB RAM, i5 processor, upgraded from Windows 7. I have created panoramas from as many as 18 images and haven't had any problems.

Jimhess, I have essentially the same setup as you, only a bit more ram. I did an export to photoshop for a pano and it worked fine. It takes much longer though for a quick pano that I don't care much about the quality. All of a sudden I can't make any panorama's in LR CC Classic. Since upgrade. I'm going to try at home computer and see what's up with that one. All I know is it always worked before I upgraded last week. I hope I don't have to uninstall and reinstall.

A number of people have reported these symptoms -- see this bug report: Lightroom Classic: Merge to HDR and Panorama doesn't work | Photoshop Family Customer Community . Please click Me Too and add details about your issue to the bug report, making it a little more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix.
An Adobe employee has posted a workaround, though no one has confirmed yet whether it works: Lightroom Classic: Merge to HDR and Panorama doesn't work | Photoshop Family Customer Community

johnrellis - I can confirm that the Adobe employee workaround just worked for me. I made a copy of the Lightroom 5.0 registration.lrreg file, opened it in notepad (windows) and pasted in Features.disableGlobalTaskManager = true and It worked as noted. It showed up in the system info file as he said it would. Thank you for the help. I tried it on two panoramas and worked like a charm.

Good. Please add that feedback along with your me-too vote to the bug report.
