I am trying to print from Lightroom using a Matte photo paper. I need the ICC profile for Epson Archival Matt paper but this is not available from Epson for my Epson SC-P400 printer using mac Sierra operating system

Has anyone got any ideas how I can print on this paper when the paper profile is missing.  I guess I can't set Lightroom to allow the printer to manage colour the guess at the profile to use from the few that are available under matt paper but this seems like a good way to waste a lot of material without the guarantee of finding a setting that works

That profile would have to be provided by Epson if it is available. I don't know anything about your printer. But if it supports that particular paper then Epson would have to have a profile for it.

I have had a reply from Epson. They do not support Archival Matte paper on the P400 the best they can suggest is to try the profiles they do support and use the one that gives the best results. They do support the paper on the P600 so I guess they don't think a P400 used is interested in custom profiles

I don't know anything about the Epson models you are speaking of. But apparently the company doesn't feel that your printer will match with that particular paper. I know you don't want to waste any ink, but it looks like that's what you're going to have to do. You'll probably find that a little experimenting will go a long way.

Another option would be to have someone make you a custom print profile. Google "order custom print profiles" for some companies that do this. (I don't have experience with any of them to recommend one to you.) This would involve you printing out their test sheet and sending it to them. If you do this, be careful when printing your test sheet to use the exact Lightroom and printer settings that they recommend.
