Performance Issues in Lightroom Classic

Dispite all the tune up and adjustments tips, Lightroom Classic, especially when also running Photoshop is performing dismally.

After a few operations on several photos, LR stops responding to edits, or even stranger, shows the edit taking place filmstrip but NOT in the main panel when in Develop mode. The problem becomes more accute when attempting to edit larger files such as a panaroma.

My Intel Windows 11 computer with 32gig of memory ran fine until the last few series of upgrades. The windows task manager shows LR is utilizing over 60% of memory.

The only solution to the problem is to shut LR and PS (if running) down and restart my computer.

Your graphic device is powerful enough to run LR and PS smoothly.

I would in a first step try to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

In the longer term you should update your computer with an more powerful graphic card. If you use a notebook, it will be difficult or impossible to upgrade it. The only option then is to purchase a new more powerful device.

After almost 2 months absence from this thread of problems I've been experiencing in LR Classic, I want to return to the issue.

I have changed the configuration of my computer. I have doubled the system memory from 32g to 64g. I have changed the "Camera Raw Cache Settings to 100g and placed it on a SSD drive. And I have added a GPU (MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X OC Graphics) with 12g of memory.
Overall performace of the machine seems to be better but I'm not running benchmarks here.

The problem of LR Classic correctly displaying an edited photo seems to still exist.

The following happened after exporting a photo to PS, changing the sky and saving.

Notice that the image appears correctly in the Filmstrip but not on the main screen or in the Navigator Window:

Sychronizing the folder does not fix the problem. Shutting LR down and restarting does fix the issue.

Suggestions please.

Notice I moved exposure to +4.47 but change is only reflected in the film strip below.

Here's what happens when I do a simple crop:

Close the crop "tool" and the action is reflected in the filmstrip but the photo in the Develope panal is not cropped. I will close LR and restart and the photo will be cropped as wanted.
