Photo Merge Error

I just got a new Mac and got an LRC license.  I have my photos on an external drive.  I tried to merge 2 photos in LRC but it appears I have an issue associated with running this process on my Mac with the photos on the hard drive.  I got an error "photo merge error, unable to merge the photo.  Failed to import final merge result from ( my harddrive).  I have tried to give full disc access and permissions but no luck.  Can anyone help?

regards

steve

So, to clarity, by Merge you mean this:

And hence my earlier inquiry, Pano or HDR?

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear. I click on 2 photos from the thumbnails at base of window, then photo- merge- panoramic. It processes the merg and then gives me a photo merge error. I think the issue is associated with connectivity between my Mac and external drive. many thanks

And what is the error? A screenshot of the error message would be helpful.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

Is this a Merge Photos Pano, or a Merge Photos HDR?

Just straight photos - merge. The process seems to work as usual but fails to read the file at the end.
