Question

Photos doesn't show after an import

In the last sessions with Lightroom Classic 12.12.1, when I do a new import from a SD Card with the option COPY, the photos are copied to the folder I want but doesn't appear in the last import catalog; the count is 0.

It never happens with Lightroom Classic 11 and before. I'm on Mac OS 12.6.3

If I create a new catalog I have no problem. What can I do with the old catalog? There are a lot of faces recognized and I don't want to start again with a new catalog.

Can you help me, please?

Thanks,

Pablo.

Please check if Lightroom has full access rights.

If this doesn't help I would suggest a complete and clean reinstallation.

Please follow the steps below:

If you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here,  https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

I would start by deleting (not just resetting) the preferences. It seems nobody gave you this advice yet. Here's how:

Hi Johan,

After deletting the files indicated in that link and restarting the computer now I can import files but when I close the Lightroom Classic 12.2.1 and starts it again, I can't import more images and have the same problem.

This only runs the first time.

Now I revert to version 12.1 and it seems to run ok at this moment. I will write in this thread again if the problem repeats.

Thanks to all of you. Waiting for the version 12.3.

Oh!, The problem appears again.

Now I can't import more photos. It was running good but after using for a while the software and tried a new import, it fails.

I just try to check a backup catalog from 3 months ago and still having the same problem.

I also open a catalog v11 in v12.1 converting it and the same problem.

I revert the software to version 11.5 and open the same catalog v11 I open before and now I have no problems, so the problem is since version 12 in adobe Classic and so on.

What can I do then?

The catalog in some time was corrupted internally but no error messages? I don't know what happens.

Hi Rikk, I tried to revert to version 12.1 but still have the same problem.

I attach three screencapture where you can see that the number of photos doesn't change after the import in the complete catalog neither in the last imported catalog, so there is something more.

I will try to restore some backup and check again.

Please take a look here: Troubleshoot corrupt catalog (adobe.com)

If this doesn't help please try to restore the catalog from an backup.

Hi Axel,

I always backup the catalog with the two options checked to verify integrity and I never have a problem neither an error opening the catalog.

I don't understand why this happened. I have over 60.000 faces recognized and don't want to start again, because importing from a catalog doesn't import the face database.

If you restore a catalog from a backup you don't need starting from the beginning. The catalog is current at the time the backup was created. If you restore the catalog from the last backup, you only need to import the photos that you have added to your catalog since then.
