When importing my photos to Lightroom classic the pictures in the thumbnails are blurry so therefore making it difficult to see which photo I want to put a check by to import in the development. How can this be resolved

The images you see in the Import dialog are jpg previews embedded in the raw file.
Most cameras create full size previews, but not all.
What camera are you using?
Another option is that you are using the DNG converter to convert your raw files to DNG.
It has three options for preview size, None, Medium, and Full size.
The medium size is 1024 pixels on the long side.

Are you selecting to use embedded previews? If so, what camera?

Since the images are blurry before importing (in the Import dialog), Lightroom hasn't had the chance to create any previews yet. So the previews shown are the jpgs embedded in the raw files.
I've been trying to find a raw file from the 6D for download, but had no luck.
@vickiy92498843 , would you mind attaching a sample raw file here, then we can establish the size of the preview.
