Is it possible to find photos by filtering on "not included in any cillections"

Correct, but I assumed the OP would have understood that if he indeed has collections with just numbers. By the way: this only searches for images not in any normal collection. You cannot search for images in smart collections this way.

Make a smart collection that searches on 'Collection' 'does not contain' 'a e i o u y'. Assuming that you do not have collections called 'ghnbmkrtg' or something like that, this should catch all collection names.

Should have " 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9" in there too as your collections may just be numbers.
