Preference Settings

After following all the "Import Preference Settings"  to check all recommended settings, I can leave the screen then immediately return and they are all set back to original settings. No matter what I change It does this. This is for edit>preferences> general and file handling changes, it all comes back to the "select current/previous import "collection during import"  box being the only one checked. I only want to review my Acros jpegs for editing but it will only show dng once I import photos (by sd card) into library. I shoot with a Fuji XT-2, Raw+Fine (jpeg), and Lightroom is 7.5 .Any suggestions? I feel something has been set to limit the changes acceptable within certain parameters.

If you can, temporarily increase the OS setting for screen resolution. Or in Preferences>Interface reduce the Font Size. And when the Preferences dialog is open, the Enter key is equivalent to hitting "OK".

Elie, ok, so thanks!, while going about your suggestions I ran across "move task bar," so I moved it to "left side" , then was able to access the "OK" button. Now the RAF and JPEG are showing up beside each other in library. Thank you for taking time to help me. (and WobertC). Have a blessed day.

Seems like an awfully elementary question, but are you clicking on the "OK" confirmation button at the bottom of the Preferences window before leaving?

Elie, you know what,  looking at an example screen , the bottom of the page where "ok" button is is covered up or not showing on the bottom of my laptop screen. Wow. How would I shrink it to see it? It's too big to move up.

If I understand correctly- it seems your Preference changes are not being saved in the Preference file.

Have you tried resetting the entire Preferences file and re-starting LR?- Resetting Preferences in Lightroom CC/6

    Then set your options again.

You need a check mark in the box- [Treat JPG files nest to raw photos as separate photos]

and then you will need to 'Synchronize' the folders of raw photos.

I vaguely recall seeing forum posts where the Preferences file somehow became 'Read Only' and would not update to the changes. This could be your situation?

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

Thanks WobertC, I reset preferences as you instructed ( thank you), then came back and checked box " treat jpeg file..." , Left screen, went back and it's changed back again. Impkrt another photo I just shot in Acros, download, and I can't see or find jpeg, only dng. I just wanna see/edit my jpeg. Is it putting it somewhere else?

Anything that I change in any of the preference tabs reverts back to initial Settings as soon as I leave Edit. None of them stick.

Are you talking about the Import OPTIONS that are on the Import dialog? If you are the only way to make them Sticky, Make Them Stick, is to import some images. If you click the Cancel button all settings go back to as they were. None of the changes you made get saved.
