Presets Import but don't show up

Hey all,

I purchased some presets from another photographer. I have been communicating with her on this issue as well. When I import the presets, only 3 of the 7 show up. I have updated lightroom, deleted & reinstalled, tried importing them several different ways, and zipped & unzipped the file to see if that made a difference. No matter what I do, I cannot get them to show up. The other photographer has sent me the presets zipped, unzipped, and individaully. I have the 'show partially compatible develop presets' box checked. I am on a MacBook Pro that I got a couple months ago, but have purchased presets since owning and haven't had a problem importing those. Any help is appreciated!!

Just sent, thanks so much!

Indeed, the "Honeywine 1" develop preset you sent me refers to a creative profile, "High Desert" (via the Treatment & Profile checkbox when the preset was created).  When a preset refers to a creative profile that hasn't been imported into your LR, a bug in LR silently hides the preset.

So you'll need to go back to the person who provided you the preset and ask for the creative profile Hight Desert.

You can see whether a develop preset refers to a creative profile by looking for lines like these in the preset's .xmp file:

<crs:Look>
<rdf:Description
crs:Name="High Desert"
crs:Amount="1.000000"
crs:UUID="B8251B9EBDC4469E8FD588267354365B"
crs:SupportsAmount="false"
crs:SupportsMonochrome="false"
crs:SupportsOutputReferred="false"
crs:Stubbed="true">
<crs:Group>
<rdf:Alt>
<rdf:li xml:lang="x-default">Peyton Byford - High Desert</rdf:li>
</rdf:Alt>
</crs:Group>

Second off, sometimes Develop Presets is conflated with Presets. That is to say, not all presets are Develop Presets. Some can be Profile Presets, (will not get into edit in, rename, etc presets)

Raw and I have double checked in my profile presets, but nothing seems to appear.

First up, RAW or JPEG?

Some presets are for RAW only, and will only show up for a RAW photo even if you check partially compatible.
