Presets not appearing after import

My LrC is updated to the latest version and I imported presets (.xmp) and they didn't appear in the presets window. I tried to re-import them but I got a notification saying they were previously imported. I have the "show partially compatiable develop presets" box checked and I've restarted the program. I'm at a loss of what to do now.

And ignoring the partially compatible presets option. Are your images RAW?

Yes I always shoot in RAW so every image in LrC is a RAW image

Navigate to the location of the presets in ACR.

 

MAC: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/Settings 

 

Windows :  C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Settings

 

The presets should be there.

Open one of them with a text editor and check the group.

Perhaps it's not @Archipelago Quest 12.

 

Also perhaps those presets are not totally new and are in the Archipelago Quest 17 and/or 18.

 

In case you can try to reset LR preferences, that often fixes all the bugs.

Be sure to backup those Preferences or if you don't mind you will have to re-do every preference anew including Plug-ins data.

I suggest to backup.

I did follow these instructions and have other presets of theirs in my catalog imported the same exact way. I imported these ones and they werent in the catalog and when I try again it says theyve already been imported.

What is the name of the group they are under?

 

They might also have ended in the Users Presets Group and you might have hidden that one in the preset Manager.

I did check that because I had them hidden and theyre not there. I restarted LrC, I hid and unhid the user presets... I'm at a loss

Where did you get these presets? Most likely these presets apply a custom profile, and that profile isn't installed in Lightroom. There is a known issue that presets do not show at all if they apply a 'missing' profile.

    I purchased them through Archipelago. They did come with a profile as well that had imported too.
