Cross-posted from Reddit:

Hello everyone,

I am out of ideas for solving the syncing issues I'm having with my LRC catalog and I was hoping for some help.

System info:

Windows 10

LRC version 12.5

Problem info:

- no changes to photos on LRC are syncing to LR, and no changes to photos on LR are syncing to LRC. Clicking cloud icon in LRC shows (currently) "Syncing 10 photos" (that's how many I have trying to sync right now, for simplicity). However, sync activity under Preferences > Lightroom Sync on LRC shows 0 uploading, 0 downloading, 0 pending. Furthermore, Network utilization as indicated by Windows Resource Monitor is not consistent with Lightroom using any significant upload/download capacity for photo transfer, indicating to me that it's not even trying to sync. Sync status on creative cloud desktop and LR shows as up to date. Mousing over photos in the All Synced Photographs collection in LRC shows all 10 of the photos as "Sync with Lightroom Pending"

Things I have already tried, roughly in order:

- Checking for/installing updates to creative cloud, LR, and LRC

- Sign out/sign in to creative cloud desktop

- navigating to https://lightroom.adobe.com/ and checking for sync errors (none appear)

- Preferences > Lightroom Sync > Hold Alt > Rebuild Sync Data (many times)

- Preferences > Lightroom Sync > Hold Alt > Generate Diagnostic Report - doesn't really give any useful information after reading the report

- Pause syncing, close lightroom classic, rename Sync.lrdata file to Sync.old and/or delete Sync.lrdata file and reload LRC.

- Downgrading LRC to version 12.4 or 12.3 then attempt the above two steps

- Delete all photos from All Synced Photographs collection, then attempt rebuild sync data and deletion of Sync.lrdata folders.

- Preferences > Lightroom Sync > Delete All Synced Data, then delete all photos from online library. This was followed by deleting all photos from All Synced Photographs collection, then attempting rebuild sync data and deletion of Sync.lrdata folders.

- Modifying firewall settings to allow creative cloud desktop to sync files

- Uninstall and reinstall of LRC in creative cloud desktop, with deletion of Sync.lrdata file before reopening catalog.

- Uninstalled LRC and selected option to remove preferences/plugins, then reinstalled as described above.

My thoughts:

If I wasn't restricted to using Lightroom because I need access to Negative Lab Pro, I would have ditched this software long ago for capture one. It's remarkable to me how hard it is to troubleshoot these syncing issues. I've combed every forum I could find implementing every solution available. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with this software and would really like to solve this syncing problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes! see here:

Make sure you have local copies of any cloud files. If necessary, export
them from Lr (cloud based) Desktop to a folder using the “Original +
Settings” export option.

Go to Lightroom.Adobe.com and delete (again) everything from the cloud. You
need to do that from your profile menu.

Launch Lr Desktop and wait until all the local files are deleted, through
sync. There should be zero files on the cloud and zero files in Lr Desktop.

Create a brand new catalog, set in preferences the location where LrC
should download any cloud photos from now on. Then turn sync on, on this
new catalog. Confirm, so that now this new catalog is the only one syncing
to the cloud. Import some test files into this catalog and put them into a
syncing collection. Check if they sync OK by going to Lightroom.Adobe.com.
Open Lr and check whether those LrC uploaded smart previews download into
Lr. Add some test photos into Lr, wait for the sync to complete and check
if they download into LrC.

If all is OK, run the “Import from another catalog” command from the file
menu to merge into this new catalog the files (with their edits tags,
collections etc) from your old catalog. Check the option for the files to
be left at their original locations.
