Problems with importing files on iPad Air 2

Hi everyone,

facing with an interesting issue using Lightroom mobile on iPad air2 and iOS 10.2.

Once I have a photo in my camera roll I'm able to import it even if it's a raw file. My challenge is that I've received a raw file via email. Once I open the image and hit the "open in" button Lightroom doesn't show up and can't import it.

What I've done so far none of them helped:

reinstall the app

import the file to documents 5 I was hoping to be able to open in from there

uploaded the file to google drive to open from there

lightroom is not able to import from cloud

Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

Thanks a lot

Correct answer dj_paige

You can't "open in" to get a photo into Lightroom.

You have to save the RAW file onto your hard disk somewhere, and then Import it into Lightroom.

Thanks for your answer. The thing is once I have it on google drive or in iCloud I do not have any option to save to disk.

If if I do it from my camera with a cable it imports the photos straight to my camera roll and I can open them in Lightroom.

The big big question how to force the raw file from my email to my internal storage...

Any idea on that?

Thanks again for for your quick response.

Using your e-mail software, you have to save the RAW file onto your hard disk somewhere, and then Import it into Lightroom.
