Problems with Lightroom, Epson SC P600 and Mac

Mac OSX 10.11.6

Epson Sure Color P600

Lightroom 5.7.1

I have problems for printing photos with the Printing module of LR on my Epson printer SC P600

My screen is correctly calibrated with ColorMunki.
I use icc profiles for the photographic papers I use.

If I let LR manage colors, using a paper icc profile (e.g. EPSON_P600_Metallic_Photo_Glossy_PK_v3.icm), I get wrong colors e.g. yellow becomes a bit green, purple gets drak blue, etc, like if some additional profile was interfering.

However if I let the printer manage colors and indicate the icc profile in the printer pilot, it seems ok.

Moreover, the size of margins and photos that I indicate are incorrectly printed: image cells are enlarged (+1mm for 93mm), margins are truncated (more than 3mm on an A3+) paper, etc.

Any help ?

Thierry

I was having the same problem with the Epson Sure Color P-600. It was installed to run wireless per Epson's Directions; that is install the Bonjour. I only got some of the color management tools and not the one's I needed. I then re-installed the latest software and utility package from their web site along with a patch that was available for paper sizing (these are all found on the software page for the P600.) After deleting the previously installed printer, I ran the installation software, selecting the Epson Series Software Driver Series and I not only installed the Bonjour Service but the IP Service. Then when connecting to do printing I selected the P600 printer with the IP Service rather than the Bonjour Service. This magically made all the Epson Color Management Tools appear and my prints look like they should.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting this. I was having the same problem and your solution worked perfectly for me.

Often times color mismatches in printing are the result of not disabling color management in either the printer driver or Lightroom. In other words, both the software and the printer are managing the color. If you want Lightroom to manage the color, make sure that you turn off color management in the printer driver. I would have to see your settings in order to advise on the margins.

Thanks Jim for your answer,

Color management is set as follows (see the pictures, sorry my interface is in french):

In Lightroom, "Color managment" (Gestion des couleurs) is set to the EPSON-P600_Metallic_Photo_Glossy profile.

Then, in the printer pilot, I cannot change the "Concordance des couleurs" (color consistency ?) which is set in grey to "ColorSync"

In this case, colors are very bad on my photos.

Conversely, if I set "Color management" to "Printer" in Lightroom, then I can  set the color profie in the printer pilot (same as before), and the colors are correct.

Concerning margins, see the settings in the first picture, I set the left margin 1mm larger than the right margin in order to center the image. When I don't, the left margin is  suppresed. The head and bottom margins are completely cut, and the hight of cells is 72mm while it should be 70.5.

Expect these data are significant for you.

Remember that I use a Mac, the interface in LR and printer pilots are different from Windows.

Best regards,

Thierry

Did you do a Nozzle check to see that all inks are firing? Sorry, have to ask.

DO test the output using a color reference file!
