Hi , I am creating new presets and after i apply the preset makes image look unusable, not sure how to describe it.

aditionally , i have a big problem with inconsistent editing. most of my photos are from different lighting scenarios ( weddings ) but i am unable to use previous edit because it looks totally different in new catalog! what am i doing wrong wrong?

I have experimented with two catalogs (in the same computer and monitor!) that both 'share' the exact same .XMP presets and cannot see a difference with the same photo imported to each catalog.

One way a Preset can alter is the 'Amount' slider. Check that both catalogs have the same preset amount set.

Next step might be to open the Preset .XMP file with a text editor and see if anything unusual appears. (A better expert than me might be able to interpret better.)

You must be using Lightroom-CLASSIC   "different in new catalog!". Moderator move to correct forum.

Do you have the preference set to "Store Presets with this catalog"?

Is it then possible you have different versions of a Preset in other catalogs?

In your screen-shot what happened?  All I see is some over-exposure, or lack of contrast.

Post some comparison shots to illustrate the difference you see.

Post screen-shots from the Develop module panels to illustrate the adjustments made by a Preset.

Hi @aniavi! Could you share a bit more about the issue you're facing?

What do you mean by the preset making the photo unusable? If the original photos have different lighting, colors, or were taken with different cameras, the preset might look different on each photo. You'll need to tweak the images individually to ensure consistency.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Alek, do you see the screenshot i attached? this happened after applying the preset.

Yeah i know presets look different on the photos but they should look similar, this is what preset is for. I've been using the Lightroom for 10+ years and never had issues before. I am guessing something changed for me after the latest update?
