"Multiple settings" adjustment added automatically every time I open a photo

Community Beginner ,

Hello, I'm encountering this really annoying bug - every photo I click on in the Develop module gets the "Multiple settings" adjustment added automatically. And then the photo is marked as having adjustments, which really messes up my workflow - since, well, I haven't made any adjustments. This bug appeared since the latest release of Lightroom classic, v. 13.4.

Please help, as this bug is maddening.

1. At Import

Are you applying any presets during import?

2. Upon RAW Defaults

Are you applying in camera settings?

Hello, no, I'm always using the default settings, no presets, nothing custom.

What camera produced these images? Some Nikon cameras add Lightroom edits to their metadata, so Lightroom will apply those on import. I'm not sure which other brands do the same.

Nikon Z6 II. For 3 years I've been using it, there was no such issue, up until now. I did not update the camera firmware for the last 6 months. Hence, this is on Lightroom's end.

What are your camera defaults (see the post of @GoldingD )?

I don't know that Nikon camera well enough to tell you if you can disable the metadata settings, but what you could do is the following. Using an image that has no adjustment settings at all, create a develop preset and check all the boxes. Call the preset 'Zero All', because it will contain zero settings for everything. Then apply this preset on import.
